Money Stress Doesn’t Take a Holiday

One moment you’re laughing with family or friends. Next, you’re stressing about overspending or judging the choices you made earlier in the year.

Sound familiar?

Here’s what I’ve seen: Money stress doesn’t care how much you earn.
It shows up at every income level. Especially during the holidays.

Sometimes it’s in the day-to-day:
Is this enough?
How can I give without overspending?

Sometimes it’s big picture:
Am I where I thought I’d be?
Did I make good choices this year?

Here are a few ways to shift the pressure:

→ Let go of guilt and judgment. Get curious instead.
“That didn’t go how I hoped. What can I learn from it?”

→ Remember, growth is not just about numbers.
Are you calmer, clearer, or less reactive than last year?
That counts too.

→ Focus your giving on what matters.
In our family, we moved to a Secret Santa with a set spending limit.
It keeps things simple, while still fun and meaningful.
And if you’ve ever read about Love Languages, you know gifts don’t land the same way for everyone. Sometimes the best gift isn’t a thing.

→ Set a simple intention for next year. For example:
• “I want fewer fear-based decisions.”
• “I want my money to support more ease.”
• “I want to spend in ways that reflect what matters to me.”

→ Do a quick check-in (no right answers, just something to notice and a place to start):
• My money confidence: ___ /10
• Financial stress level: ___ /10
• One win I’m proud of: ____________
• One belief I’m ready to shift: ____________

This season doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing, financially or emotionally.

The more you stay connected to your values, the easier your money decisions get, even with holiday noise.
