24 Jun Two Questions

I enjoyed listening to Carl Richard’s conversation with Oliver Burkeman on 50 Fires: Money and Meaning with Carl Richards.
Two thought-provoking questions stayed with me:
Are you using money to make life better—or just delaying living it?
If someone found a record of your financial transactions, what story would it tell?
That first one really made me pause.
As an advisor—and in my own life—I’m often balancing what can feel like two competing goals: being prepared for the future and enjoying life now. Personally (for better or worse), I lean toward the latter.
There’s no right answer here. But it’s always worth a conversation.
Because just like that second question suggests, our habits—how we spend our time and money—might not always line up with the life we say we want to build.
Highly recommend the 50 Fires podcast. Always interesting, always thought-provoking. Great guests, too.
