Money Purpose

Getting clear on your view of money’s purpose can be a useful filter when choosing between competing money uses.

  • What makes you happy?
  • What do you dream of?
  • Is money for your security or your freedom or both?
  • How does freedom look to you?
  • How does security look to you?
  • What do you care about?

When I meet with couples, it can often be the case that they have different feelings about the purpose of their money. It may also be the first time they have openly discussed these differences. The important thing is that they don’t judge each other’s perspective. Our varied backgrounds and experiences mean equally varied ways in which we think about and use our money. Having a conversation about what’s important to them is a great first step in setting a strong financial foundation and creating a shared vision for what that foundation looks like. What do they need in place to fit their unique needs?

It can also be helpful to meet with a neutral party like a Financial Advisor.  😊 If that’s something you would like to explore, Contact me for a complimentary consultation.
